I wanted rankings that were built from formulas tracking only head-to-head, in-game data. No panelists. No votes. No committee just eye-ballin' it. Every result comes from box scores powered by CFBD. Every team starts the season on exactly equal ground.
Preseason ranks? Hard no. Predictive models built to guess at future outcomes (however efficiently)? Never. Results from past years baked in? That team then is not this team now! Every input comes from this season only.
You may notice this is exactly the opposite of what the College Football Playoff committee does. They're a group of insiders; mostly in an administrative capacity. Several members are current ADs. Each is recused only from votes involving their own school. They still vote on every other team in their own conference; rife with conflict of interest (securing future media deals and dollars). That and, you know, there's no consistent methodology behind their rankings. It's pretty much "Because I said so". Enraging the landscape was always the point, an angry fan is an engaged viewer.
This is also not 'Another BCS'. The old BCS formula blended computer rankings with the AP poll and the Coaches' poll, so human opinion decided roughly two-thirds of a team's ranking. Its computer models were also required to drop margin of victory from their calculations, discarding real performance data by rule. Both polls released preseason rankings before a single game had been played. This system does none of that. Thankfully!
TL:DR — This site removes the opinions and the guesswork. Teams are ranked where their box scores say they should be.

Objectively Football provides college football rankings, statistics, and predictions generated from an original, formula-driven system (PASS, PASS+, sTem, tWin%, and related metrics). Rankings and predictions are derived entirely from current-season, in-game data -- not polls, committee input, or preseason assumptions.

Unauthorized reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use of this application or its output is prohibited without prior written permission.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Objectively Football (the "Site") collects, how it's used, and the choices available to you. This Site is built to collect as little as possible.
This Site does not require an account, does not use cookies, and does not use browser local storage of any kind. There are no sign-up forms, no email capture, and no way for a visitor to submit personal information to this Site directly.
The only data generated by your visit is the standard technical information any website receives automatically as part of normal internet traffic -- for example, IP address, browser type, and request timestamps. This is handled at the infrastructure level by this Site's hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare) and is not collected, stored, or used by this Site's own application code for tracking, profiling, or advertising purposes.
This Site is hosted on Cloudflare's network and retrieves statistics from a backend built on Google Apps Script, sourced from College Football Data (CFBD). As with any web request, these providers process standard connection-level information (such as IP address) as an inherent part of delivering content to you. Their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
This Site does not use any advertising networks, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts of its own.
This Site does not collect personal data for its own purposes, and therefore does not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Because no personal data or account information is collected or stored by this Site's own application, there is nothing of that kind to retain. Standard infrastructure-level access logs, if any, are retained only as long as Cloudflare's own default policies specify, not by this Site's application directly.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you generally have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of any personal data held about you, and the right to object to processing or request portability of your data. Because this Site does not collect or store personal data of its own, there is typically nothing held to act on -- but if you believe otherwise, or have any privacy question, contact objectivelydrew@proton.me.
